- Unable to update
- Posted by Derek on February 8th, 2004
When I try to download updates the checking for latest
version page doesn't seem to be loading as when I go to
welcome page and press scan for updates it gives me a
message saying windows update site hasn't finished loading
even though I have tried leaving it for ages. I also get
error on page messages on some pages on the internet
though not all and wonder if this is something to do with
it. Have done a virus scan and none found so am completely
baffled. Many thanks to anyone out there who can help
this baffled muppet.

Hi Derek,
What operating system are you running? It sounds like a program may be
intercepting the Windows Update process.
Here's a knowledge base article with a list of some known programs:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;241234
For testing purposes you may try temporarily disabling any web
enhancement/accelerator/Antivirus programs before accessing the site.
Try a clean boot.
