I am unable to update to IE6 SP1 with Windows Update on
ME. Several of the files give 0x800b0003 error in
setupapi.log - the first of several entries in the log is:
An unsigned or incorrectly signed file
(c:\windows\msdownld.tmp\as1bcca3.tmp\iemillen.inf ) was
installed. Error 0x800b0003: The form specified for the
subject is not one supported or known by the specified
trust provider.

The iuhist.xml file indicates download and installation
values = complete, with needingboot = 1.
Any help/suggestions welcome.. thanks

Art,

Register the following files with these steps:

1. Click on Start, Run and type "REGSVR32 SOFTPUB.DLL" (w/o the
quotes). You should see a popup message that this process succeeded.
2. Click on Start, Run and type "REGSVR32 INITPKI.DLL" (w/o the
quotes). You should see a popup message that this process succeeded.
3. Click on Start, Run and type "REGSVR32 MSSIP32.DLL" (w/o the
quotes). You should see a popup message that this process succeeded.

Reboot the system and do a search for ie6setup.exe . If it's not
present on your system, go here to obtain IE6 SP1 (TEMPORARILY disable
your antivirus program and any script blocking component of it prior to
downloading . Failure to do so may result in file corruption or a
damaged installation . Reenable your AV after the installation is
complete and the system has rebooted) :
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/...1/download.asp

If ie6setup.exe is present, boot to Safe Mode, click Start, Run, click
Browse and point to ie6setup.exe. Click OK or Press Enter.
