- Update Error 0x800C0008
- Posted by kellis on March 4th, 2004
Everytime I try to do an update I get the following
message:
"Windows Update Error
Windows Update has encountered an error. This may be due
to a discrepancy in your computer's time setting.
To check your date and time setting:
On the taskbar, double-click the time.
Verify that the date and time is correct.
You can also get online support if you are having problems
with Windows Update.
Send error number to Microsoft (0x800C0008)
Note This sends error information but does not create a
support incident; you may or may not receive a response."
However my clock is correct, and I have done updates on
this before. Anyone know how to fix this?

Did you check the Date to see if it is correct ?
To check the language setting in Internet Explorer:
1. Click "Tools" and then select "Internet Options".
2. Click "Languages".
3. Make sure at least one language is listed in the "Language Options"
dialog box.
Delete the Internet cache and cookies.
1. Click "Tools" and then select "Internet Options".
2. Click "Delete Cookies".
3. Click "Delete Files".
Uncheck "Check for server certificate revocation":
1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click on Tools
3. Click on Internet Option from the drop down menu
4. Click on the Advanced tab
5. Scroll down to the Security Section
6. Unselect "Check for server certificate revocation"
7. Reboot the machine

I've the same error. Does anybody can help us?

The time and date were correct. I did the clearing of the
cache and cookies and that worked because all the other
options were already unchecked. and I had a language.
Thank you for your help
