- Update looks successful, but Windows update still thinks I've not installed it.

Each time I turn on my PC, windows update asks me to
install new update (the recent critical patch for Windows
media player). Installation looks successful, but next
time this happens again and again.
Suggestions?
Thanks very much!

Turn off Your antivirus program and any pop up blocker
programs, then go to the windows update site, scan for
updates, install them. Then restart your computer. Make
sure to turn your antivirus program on if it hasn't
already after you restarted the computer. The update will
be completely installed now and you shouldn't get the
same update over and over again. Usally the antivirus
program prevents a full installation of the update and
this is why you keep getting it. By turning the antivirus
program off, it allows for the full installation. Hope
this helps you. Let me know if this doesn't work...
