i have been trying to update my windows xp from the
microsoft website. the files all download fine, and seem
to install, but when i restart and go back to update to
continue with other updates, the files that i thought i
had just installed are still listed as updates that i
need. any suggestions??

We need more info. Please specify which updates are being reoffered.
