The Vanishing Dial-Up
Posted by Eve on February 15th, 2004

Is anyone aware of a fix for any and all dial-up
connections completely vanishing from the 'Network
Connections' menu, as well as failing to place the
connection status Icon in the system tray?

I've asked in every other forum I could find and I've
still found nothing. It's unreal! I can still access the
connection if I've made a shortcut to it, but short of
that, the only way I can access it to delete it is to go
into the "Internet Options" screen from the Control
panel. Once I remake it, it remains in my network
settings only until my system is logged out or powered
down, and then it's just gone again.

This is especially annoying because I am sometimes
disconnected from my ISP, and am unable to tell windows to
close the connection so I can redial! This means having
to reset the computer anytime I need to dial my ISP again!

If anyone can help, PLEASE contact me either on ICQ under
the number 4869334, or in the Forums (visitor section) at
