I installed an Allied Telesyn AT-AR240E ADSL router with a
built in firewall.
Since the installation of the Firewall the Windows update
fails during the "Scan for updates". Windows update log
indicates an error "0x80072EFD".
This blocking happens on Win 98 through to XP. I installed
a second AT-AR240E, with the same result.
The only way to get updates is to disable the firewall
fuctionality on the router. I suspect there are some
manual configuration regarding services/ports, however I
have not been able to find any information on excatly
which service/port nedds to be enabled.allowed for the
updater to work
Anyone with experiance of this problem, hopfully fix.
