Client's machine - was infected with a couple of
viruses. Viruses have been dealt with. Selecting
Windows update from the start menu produces nothing -
though going to the URL from IE works alright.

Trying to run Windows update - the scan proceeds
correctly, the licence is displayed and accepted and
nothing else happens. No apparent net activity either.

The auto update for critical updates works fine.

Any suggestions for resolving this one?

I've tried the regsvr32 associations and the renaming of
catroot2 as suggested elsewhere in this group.
