- Windows Update Killed My PC
- Posted by TonyB on November 13th, 2003
I turned on my PC and received the usual message that
there are updates ready to be installed. As usual I
installed them. Unfortunately after I restarted my PC it
won't boot anymore. I get this message:
"Windows could not start because the following file is
missing or corrupt:
<Windows root>\system32\hal.dll"
Please re-install a copy of the above file."
Help?
