- Windows Update Scan
- Posted by John Steward on November 12th, 2003
I have 2 systems running win98, both have fresh installs
of windows, when i go to scan for updates, it goes to 100%
and shows no updates, it gives no errors, the windows
update.log file shows everything fine, no errors. Any
suggestions.

John;
Try #11 and #10 on this list, if that fails, try the rest:

The only other thing I can suggest if you've already tried what Jupiter
Jones has advised is to delete the Internet cache and cookies.
1. Click "Tools" and then select "Internet Options".
2. Click "Delete Cookies".
3. Click "Delete Files".

Thanks for your reply!
Several of us (on this board and on the win98/update board) have tried all
of these fixes. As a local tech, I have had to deal with many of Wupdate
problems with numerous computers and their OS's. I have yet to see one so
difficult to cure.
I'm sure the good folks here from MS will find an answer soon so I'll look
like the hero to my client
Thanks Again,
Jim
