When I go to download updates I get an un-numbered error
message "encountered error,cannot display".If I right
click there are no options.I have my computer set to get
automatic downloads of updates.How do I know if I'm
receiving any?

Gary;
Go to Windows Update and click "View Installation History"
You will be able to tell if you are getting and installing the
Updates.
