I am way behind on updates, but when I attempt to update,
even the smaller critical updates, the program downloads
fine, but there is no activity in the install part. The
bar doesn't move, and I cannot tell if it is active on my
Compaq

I have the same problem but can not find any solution. I have been using
the download side to pick them up. If/when you find a solution I would like
to know what it is.

Hello,
If you are trying to access the Windows Update site with the AOL browser,
you may run into this problem. Try the following.
1. Log onto AOL.
2. Minimize the AOL browser.
3. Launch Internet Explorer.
4. Access Windows Update.
