- WU Error 0x800A138F
- Posted by Ken on February 24th, 2004
I too have just started having this problem on Win2K with
SP4 and all latest updates.
Getting the same "loadXML: line 1, pos 1, End element was
missing the character '>'. (Error 0xC00CE55F)
others have been reporting.
Things had been working fine. Then I installed the VB
portion of Visual Studio Enterprise 6 plus its SP5 and SP6
for SourceSafe and now have the problem.
The VB6 installer insisted on installing Java Virtual
Machine (wouldn't proceed if I unchecked it). I didn't
want it to install it because software is so old.
When it prompted about overwriting a later file, I
said "No to All". I'm wondering if it trashed my more
recent jvm and I can't find the latest version to download
and install to see if that fixes the problem.
Does this situtation ring a bell with anyone?
Thanks.
