wupdmgr.exe doesn't open ie6

I am running Windows XP pro with IE6 SP1. I am trying to
run Windows Update Manager, but it won't start unless IE6
is already open. It used to work without IE being open.
Anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

John,

Do you get an error message? Anything? Check the file properties >
security tab.
