trying to dl win updates from windowsupdate.com site and
get past the accept part and then it just hangs for hours
and never dl. when closing it asks if im sure i want to
close and that if i do the updates will not complete. i
have a dsl line with two computers and one will update
and the other will not. the one that can't update even
hangs trying to get to the support window. i can dl from
other sites and pull up webpages fine. my automatic
updatates is on and will install only the critical
updates but not xp updates.

We need to determine what error is being generated in the Windows Update.log
file.

Copy and paste "%windir%\windows update.log" (w/o the quotes)
into the Internet Explorer address bar and hit Enter.
Scroll down to the current date and look for the error being reported.
Next, Look for the error message in the Windows Update Troubleshooter:

Please try the suggestions listed. If problem persists please post the
error message.
