I am using Windows Xp professional . Recently when I right click the mouse
over the folder , there is no pop up to let me select the options available
to the foloder. However, when I right click the mouse in other items , such
the individual files , the links etc, the options are available. i.e. only
the folders have this problem and that I could not change their attributes.
At first , I just think this cause me inconvenience only but then I
discovered that there were other problems. Whenever I install new
programmes, it spend an exceptional long time with the message can't create
new folders and sometimes hanged . The worse is my sound driver is out of
order and I could not resinstall it. I also cannot update through IE
sometimes ( not due to the guenuine test) . I then use the original disk to
re-install (repair option) Xp hoping that to repair it but the problems still
exists no matter I have re-install it three times.

Can any one help me? don't want to re-install a new copy of Windows to
cover the existing one because I have to re-install all the applications
agains and I don't want to make the setting
