Recently reinstalled Windows XP Pro to fix the damage caused by a bunch of
nasty spy- and mal-wares.
After I'd reinstalled, Windows was refusing to see my GFX card, and ran
VGASys to provide the graphics.
In my anger that it wasn't working, I tried stopping the VGASys service
(Display > Settings > Advanced > Adapter) which had no effect initially. I
restarted the machine, hoping it would cause Windows to see my card.
Everything is fine up until after the Splash Screen... Windows Chimes... no
graphics. Just inky blackness. Everything is all working in the back ground,
because if i hammer the keys I can make the computer do stuff. It will still
open my MP3s etc. But I can't see anything. Not even the desktop or the
cursor before me...
I've tried booting in Safe Mode... but to no avail. I've tried booting from
my XP disc - the machine refuses to do so and continues to boot to XP from
the HD.
Please help!
