I seem to be having some problems with my computer and i just want to know
if any of you smart guys in the newsgroup have any suggestions for me it
would be much appreciated. Anyway it keeps coming up with this message.
"A problem has been detected and window has been shut down to prevent
damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your
computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in
the stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacture for
driver updates. Try changing video adapter.
Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory
option such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove
or disable components, restart your computer, Press F8 to select Advanced
Startup Option, and then select safe mode.
Technical information:
*** STOP: 0x0000007e (0xc000005, 0xF9AE2BDF, 0xF9E85874, 0xF9E85570) "
Thanks for your help all.

I would boot to your XP cd and choose the recovery console. THen run
chkdsk /r, after taht is complete see if it is working. If not I would
also try doing a reinstall with the XP cd.

Um, Have you been over-clocking any components in your computer? (graphics
cards, CPU, It might be that your CPU is over heating, so, try adding a fan
or two. But otherwise, yes, backup all your files, and do a long format on
your hard drive.
