c:\windows\system32\config\system File missing or corrupt
Posted by rich507 on April 19th, 2006

I have what seems to be a common problem and when I try the solution that is
out there I run into a problem.
When it comes to this step, it says file not found.
copy c:\windows\repair\system c:\windows\system32\config\system
When I look in the c:\windows\repair dir. I don't see the system file.
I don't know why this file is missing from this Dir. but if anyone can tell
me a way to get it back into this Dir, or whatever needs to be done to fix
this.

Thanks - Desperate!

Carey,
Thank you for your response, but unfortunatly it doesent help me, I have the
docs you put in your response, but they do not help me, these are the
instructions I have been using to try and fix my PC, but like in my original
post, I get to a certain point and I run into a problem. When I try to copy
the system file from the repair Dir. it says file not found, so thats where
I'm stuck at.
