Guys I'm a novice .

If I try to run disk defrg via msconig the pop up box that would allow "run"
pops up for one fraction of a second and disappears. I've tried this after
normal sytem utility defrag does not nearly complete. If I try to download
something, the popup box to do it will show up for a fraction of a second and
disappear. If I try to run CA antivirus it will run partially through and
simply discontinue itself. I know I'm all over the board here, but any ideas
where to start? Windows XP SP 2 IE 6
