CD-RW and DVD troubles
Posted by Victoria on April 4th, 2006

A tech recently uninstalled XP Home and installed XP Professional, in order
to repair an IM Stack problem. I'm not sure if this is the cause of the
problem, but I can no longer copy to a CD-RW or read what's on a CD, nor can
I run a DVD. When I try, I'm told to insert a CD, but there's already one
there. Any suggestions?

I've already checked Device Drivers, checked for bugs, but I can't reboot to
the ResourceCD, in order to reload drivers.

Thanks for any and all input!

Victoria, open MyComputer and rt click on your CD-RW Drive. Select
Properties>Recording Tab. Make sure that the
box Enable CD Recording on this Drive is checked. You could also try
