chkdsk/f

Boot into the recovery console and run CHKDSK from there. It sounds like
something has the drive open for access when CHKDSK goes to run at boot.
Spyware Doctor (for example) can prevent CHKDSK from running at boot.

i see this answer here above about chkdsk/f i have spyware doctor on my pc
how do i know that it is spyware doctor that prevents me from chkdsk/f ? How
do i work around this problem? can i do something to that will let me run
chkdsk when i reboot my pc? my pc is slow?

In recovery console,CHKDSK /F Is an invalid syntex,in recovery, one must
use:CHKDSK /p or CHKDSK /R If more than 1 hd is active,then:CHKDSK C: /p
C: being the hd to chk...To run at start up,go to run, type:cmd In cmd type:
CHKDSK C: /F

For computers running spyware doctor you need to rename a particular file

ikhlayer.sys from %windir%\system32\drivers\
or
from c:\windows\system32\drivers\

You might find that the makers of spyware doctor have sorted the problem
with and update. Check for updates to the program.
