- Chkdsk removed ALL programs from startup after power loss
- Posted by pat on February 17th, 2006
I lost power(batery failed). On restart ckdsk auto scaned and fixed errors.
afterwards All my programs were moved adding 10 new directorys named
C:\found.000\dir0000.chk thru C:\found.000\dir0010.chk. I can access most
programs thru explorer and they are in the Add Remove program list, yet not
the Start Menu. Also no windows updat on the Startup.

Is there any way to restore (system restore is off) programs and files to
original locations. Basically fix what chkdsk broke.
