- Crashing with blue screen when starting specific games
- Posted by MrMagic on November 5th, 2005
Hello,
I had this problem since reinstalling Windows XP and installing
service pack 2. It first occured when I tried to play Unreal
Tournament 2004.
It always crashed with blue screen on start. Before reinstalling
windows, though, UT 2004 worked fine on same PC. It didnt work
reinstalling video drivers, or installing other versions. I tried to
search what is the cause of this problem but gave up after a while.
Recently I got Civilization 4, and again, the same problem. Please
help. I wanted to try reinstalling WinXP but I will as a last resort
only.
Here is the error when PC restarts:
BCCode : 100000d1 BCP1 : 00000002 BCP2 : 00000002 BCP3 :
00000000
BCP4 : 00000002 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 256_1

C:\DOCUME~1\HellB\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER2ee1.dir00\sysd ata.xml
I dont know what other info to provide, if u would like to know more,
please ask. Thank you.

Changing the video drivers to a new version didnt help.
and I wrote down the technical error in the blue screen:
*** STOP:0x000000D1 (0x00000002; 0x00000002; 0x00000000; 0x00000002)
Please, help, should I try installing other audio drivers?

Yes! I fixed it! I installed new audio drivers from realtek, and
new chipset drivers from via arena, and the blue screen doesnt appear
anymore, the game works fine.
