- deleting old updates

is it safe to delete old updates from the add/remove programs list? i.e.
Java and windows updates?

Any XP update that you have done and have not had a problem with is safe to
delete.......but not from within Add&remove....which will delete the update
itself not the file that installed the update.
Look under your C:\windows directory for a list(usually in Blue)

You do not want to uninstall the updates.
But you can safely delete the uninstall files:
