Have an annoyance, when I close an application, like MS Access or MS Word, my
desktop does not always refresh itself. I end up with some icons showinf and
parts of the boarder from the previous app showing. Then, if I predd the F5
key the desktop will refresh and all is well.

Running: WIN XP Pro SP2 on IBM T42 Laptop
Suggestions?

Check the refresh rate settings of your monitor.
