Do you have at least 15 percent free disk space?

The Windows defragmenter will not defragment the MFT and paging file if
thats what you mean. For this you will need to use a third party tool.
If its a case of imcomplete defrag, make sure you run chkdsk and then
defrag in safe mode. (also u need 15% free space for it to do a decent
job)

My problem is similar. after running disk defrag many times, I always end
up with one rather wide "fragmented files" red bar. (It is 2 or 3 times the
width of most "Free Space" white bars). ?Is there any way to get rid of this
Red bar? Is there any way to determine what it represents?

Please go through Vogel's post in this same thread again. Did you try
defragmenting in safe mode/ran chkdsk/do you have 15% free space? Tried
using a third party tool?
