Dissappearing System Restore Points
Posted by Russ on January 16th, 2006

Whilst removing unwanted items from my hard disk to make space I accidentally
deleted microsoft office. I know I'm an idiot but I'm not the most computer
literate person. I tried to use system restore but a previous restore point
which I had used before had gone and any earlier ones had also disappeared.
I checked event viewer to see if there had been a previous old restore point
and there had.
Is there anyway of either:
Activating system restore to this older date.
Or finding the deleted program on my hard drive
Many thanks
Russ
P.S I'm using XP home

Hi

Once any System Restore checkpoint has been deleted it's unrecoverable.
System Restore won't recover MS Office in any case, so you'll have to
reinstall that program from the original CD(s), although:

How did you uninstall MS Office?
