- Editing the registry on a different drive.
- Posted by peter.mcclymont@gmail.com on April 10th, 2006
Hi All,
I am running XP on my 'c:' , and I want to edit the registry on a
different installation of windows xp on my 'e:' .
The problem is that I cannot boot into the verison of windows xp on my
'e:' , otherwise I would just edit it using regedit.
So basically if there is a way run a program on my 'c:' and have it
allow me to edit the registry on 'e:' and it would all work out.
Thanks,
Peter.

Registry files that back the registry are known as hives. Search help in regedit on that.
