Error in "Help and Support Center"
Posted by Stimpy on January 5th, 2006

[Windows Xp Home, SP2,] When I go to H&S (F1, or start menu) it loads fine
that is not my problem, but when I click any of the links, mainly on the
left side, I get "Cannot Display the Page" I have been to HP tech 3 times, I
have reinstalled via Command Prompt, I have been to several tutorials
including this:

http://www.winxptutor.com/helpctrscripting.htm

and have searched Google / yahoo till I'm blue. Not that I need the Help and
support now, but I noticed it when clicking "Troubleshoot" buttons in Device
Manager too. so I may need it someday

If there are any registry tricks I can try I'm game (familiar around the
registry)

I have exactly the same problem as Stimpy but Wesley's reply doesn't help at
all.
"Clicking "Related Topics"" Where?
I also occasionally ( I have tried so many times) get an "Error 13"

Thanks Wesley but, if you'll notice, that is the same link I posted in my
original post saying...

"That was the first step I tried. I thought that was going to fix the
problem for sure because it exactly describes my problem and the only page
on the entire internet that comes close. The registry values prescribed it
the tutorial were (are) already present so it was to no avail. I have even
reinstalled three different versions of Help and Support, (2 different HP
versions and 1 Windows Xp default) and on all the Help and Support home page
show up fine, and all HP related links, it's just the Windows help pages
that get the error.

Did that, it was my first reinstall of H&S. I have read somewhere in the
many pages I've seen, that I may have to reinstall SP2. I am trying to avoid
that. (Mine came preinstalled as a new PC with XP Home SP2)
