Factory Restore

Trying to do a factory restore because my computer has been running really
slow lately and freezing, etc. Have done 3 or 4 times in the past with no
problems. Now when I insert the Recovery CD it says "Please contact Compaq
Technical Support"
Can anyone tell me if they know of anything that I can do besides order a
new CD?

Compaq as other major OEMs customizes their restore CDs.
They use different procedures than the retail and even from other OEMs.
You need to do what the message says and contact Compaq.

You need to determine what is causing your slow performance and
freezeups. On a reasonably well maintained system there should almost
never be any need to reinstall Windows, unless there is a hard drive
failure or similar.

The last time I wiped out my system and started fresh was when I got
Windows for Workgroups 3.11 in 1993.
