- Fast User Switching doesn't work!
- Posted by master2004134 on December 28th, 2005
I'm using Windows XP Professional SP2 and I went to enable fast user
switching because 3 people share this computer. However, when I went to try
and log in as another user while leaving the other logged in, it would just
boot back to the login page, not matter how many times I clicked it. I tehn
went into the Services and found that it was stopped, but it wouldn't start
because the service TermService was missing, and it is! What do I do??

master2004134,
Try this:
1>Under the user accounts page in the control panel change the way users log
on and off
2>Disable Fast User Switching
3>Restart Computer
4>Enable Fast User Switching
Tell me if the problem persists

Are you connected to a network using active directory? Fast user switching
won't work in this environment.

No, this computer is only connected to a router with 1 other computer, and
only has file/print sharing enabled. And yes, i've tried to disable, restart,
then reenble but it still doesn't work. I even tried scanning the system
files to make sure everthing was there (it took an hour) but no problems.....
