- FAT32 vs NTFS

I am running XP Pro that was upgraded from Me. I want to convert from FAT32
to NTFS file system. I have heard that the best way is to reformat but this
is not an option. Are there any issues I should be aware of if I want to
convert from FAT32 to NTFS? Any wisdom would be greatly appreciated!! Thx.

the FAT32 is a list or table maintained by the
operating system to keep track of the status of various
segments of disk space used for file storage.
the NTFS is an advanced file system within the Microsoft
Windows 2000 operating system. it supports file system
recovery,extremely large storage media,long filenames etc.
etc. etc. so as far as I know that is the best way to
reformat & it is not an option.

The "convert" utility in XP works just fine. You should still backup your
system in the unlikely event something does go wrong...
Convert works best on a freshly defragmented drive.
