- Files & Settings Transfer
- Posted by Radiorick on May 4th, 2008
I just bought a new computer and have it connected to my home network. I
have shared the C: drive on both machines and allowed network users to
change files and can access them from either machine. When I run the Files
and Settings Transfer Wizard and select Home of Office Network as the
transfer method I get a message "Windows cannot locate your new computer.
Make sure you computer is turned on and you network is working properly."
It is . . . so what am I missing? Would I be better off connecting a
crossover cable directly between the two machines?
Thanks,
Rick Morrison
