- Help with "compress old files" in Disk Cleanup Tool
- Posted by Hodad on March 14th, 2006
I just restored my complete hard drive from a backup image (Acronis) that was
created few months ago and a great amount of my files and folders are colored
blue. Since NONE of the files have been used in over 50 days (due to having
just been restored from an old image) . . . I'm wondering if maybe "compress
old files" has looked at them and just compressed nearly everything? and if
so, will they become uncompressed once they are used again or will they stay
that way and my PC's performance be hindered by a bunch of compressed files
that really shouldn't be? Can anyone provide any insight into this?
