Hot Sync Palm issues
Posted by HK on March 14th, 2006

The Error message that I am getting is "The selected port, COM1, is not
available at this time. HotSync Manager will open the port when ir becomes
available." I have seen this message today for the first time, the only thing
new is the fact that I tried to reinstall Palm one CD yesterday, I will try
to restore old settings from day before, any more ideas?

This message usually does no longer appear after the first hotsync.
The old COM port is still reserved for Hotsync, so when you
reinstalled Palm Desktop, a new COM port is created.
You can manually toggle the settings for Hotsync COM ports in Palm
Desktop > Hotsync > Settings > Local.

Thank you Thorsten, before I saw your reply, I did system restore and never
got the message again. I may see it again since I had accidently deleted an
original software, that is why I was reinstalling and that I will try again.
