After removing a virus on my PC, XP won't let me open any programs. XP loads
fine, but when I try to open an application, I get a dialogue box asking me
what programme I want to open the application with - this applies to all
programs, including McAfee, Internet Explorer, games etc. etc.

Can anybody suggest how I can fix this? I've tried a system restore, but it
doesn't load properly either. I have also tried to reinstall XP, but I can't
get the launch application to work.
