IE6 and Outlook Express fails to respond after system standby
Posted by Clay on March 23rd, 2006

I have a Sony Vaio desktop running XP w/SP2. I have noticed that Internet
Explorer and Outlook Express will not respond when the sytem starts back up
after System Standby. Everything use to work fine and I'm not sure when the
problem started.

Any ideas??

Hi

What do you mean by "will not respond"?

The program window opens and nothing else happens. I open Task Manager and I
believe it say "Not Responding" next to Internet Explorer

Hi

Try a System Restore back to a point before the problem started. Put your
desktop into Standby - what happens then with IE & OE?

I thought about that and have even done a System Restore for another issue,
but the problem is I am not sure when this problem started. I suppose I
could do a restore in a two month increment in an effort to nail down the
problem and then restore it back to now.

Hi

You may be better off posting your problem to the IE News Group:
