Install initialization failure
Posted by Koke on November 24th, 2005

I cannot install ANYTHING...new apps, or windows updates. Everything
downloads okay but when the process gets to "initializing installation," the
install hangs. I waited over an hour and the progress bar doesn't change.
Sometimes the progress bar doesn't advance at all, other times it progresses
a little then hangs. I have to end the process.

I'm running XP SP2. It has Installer 3.1 (v2).

3. Click on Start, Run and type "REGSVR32 VBSCRIPT.DLL" (w/o the quotes).

4. Click on Start, Run and type "REGSVR32 SCRRUN.DLL" (w/o the quotes).

Ols post back to the NG for the outcome.
