- Malicious Script Warning
- Posted by SBB on April 20th, 2006
I'm running Windows XP, Norton Internet Security Professional, and Norton
Anti-Virus. Whenever I attempt to open Windowns Help & Support, I get the
following pop up High Risk warning from Norton Antivirus: "Malicious script
detected. Object: Windows script host shell object; Object: Reg Write; File:
helpctr.exe. Norton recommends that I stop the script and of course, I do.
I've run the Norton's Full Scan and the Microsoft virus detector but no
viruses were detected. I do have two adware files that I am unable to delete
from the scan.
Could these two problems be related or am I looking at two separate issues.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
