- Memory Leak

When I check the "performance" tab in Task Manager, I noticed that the
"system cache" and "available" memory doesn't add up to the Total memory. A
friend of mine said that it's a Memory Leak Problem caused by Spywares. I did
a spyware scan and everything seems ok but still have the Memory Leak Problem.
This cause my computer to freezes very often when I use programs like
Phostoshop. If anyone know or have any suggestions of how to fix this, I
would be very appreciated.

Your friend is mistaken.
In TM
Available = standby page list + free list + zero list
System cache = standby page list + system working set
The sum of the above can be below Total physical, equal to Total physical or
below Total Physical, i.e. they are not related.
Look for the problem with your Photoshop elsewhere.

no, i'm sure it's not my Photoshop problem, Photoshop is just an example,
whenever i use large programs, the computer freezes often then after a while
it returns to normal or i have to restart the system

How much RAM memory? Try Ctrl+Alt+Delete to select Task
Manager and click the Performance Tab. Under Commit
Charge what is the Total, the Limit and the Peak?
What is your CPU processor speed? Right click on your My
Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties to get
this information and the amount of RAM memory.
How large is your hard disk and how much free disk space? In
Windows Explorer right click on your C drive and select
Properties.
You may check on pagefile (virtual memory) usage with
Page File Monitor for XP:

Make sure you study the readme.txt file carefully to ensure
you get the utility to work as it should.
