- Microsoft Wireless Desktop Elite Keyboard
- Posted by beevale on March 31st, 2006
My Microsoft Wireless Desktop Elite Keyboard (less than six months old) has
turned crazy. I've finally uninstalled it after reinstalling/uninstalling it
twice - it seems stuck on number lock, goes quite mad, attempting to access
my number three favorite website (wanadoo mail!) over and over and also
attempts to print all at the same time. So I've given up and am now using a
basic no frills keyboard and this one has wires. Anyone else had problems
with the Elite range of Microsoft products?? Any tips on how I might restore
it or is it best left dead?

I have the MSFT Keyboard Elite for Bluetooth and no such problems here.
Using Intellitype 5.5 software.
Have you checked for spyware/viruses?

Yes - checked for viruses. It's a mystery to me - even after uninstalling
and reinstalling it opens with very strange behavior. I will leave it a few
days and try again next week but thanks for the reply.

Well either a key or two have got stuck down somehow. Or, I would remove
the dongle from the USB port and remove all the associated software.
Reboot, stick the dongle back in and reinstall the software. Make sure you
set a passkey for the keyboard, otherwise adjacent keyboards or other
devices could run interference with it and cause malfunctions, not to
mention security problems.
