- Need Help, installed Original copy of XP on temp HD
- Posted by Vishnu on October 5th, 2005
hie,
There were some bad sectors in my hard disk so it's gone for replacement and
will be back in a day or two. I have a temprory hard disk in my comp right
now which belongs to the vendor.
Now problem is, I have my original copy of Windiows XP installed on this
hard disk which I have to return to him and I don't want to return it to him
with the XP in running condition as MS may call my copy as pirated. >_<
So tell me what should I do in order to stop the XP to load after the last
time i Shut down. Tell me something that can only solve the problem by
reinstalling a fresh copy of XP. I really want to keep my copy original and
single owned.
Thanks in advance.

Boot with your Windows XP and the TEMP hard drive in place.
Pretend you are going to install Windows XP onto the hard drive again.
When it asks for the install location, delete the partition(s) on the hard
drive and after you do tha - reboot and remove the hard drive.
Everything that WAS on that hard drive is now gone for your purposes.
