- Nero 7
- Posted by Jim Turner on November 27th, 2005
I upgraded from Nero 6 to Nero 7 but the problem I get from Nero 7 is
similar to the problem I got with Nero 6. I get a non responsive message
then go to Task Manager and have to close the program. I don't know why and
I keep sending this to Microsoft but never get a response. Does anyone know
how I can trouble shoot and correct this problem? The rest of the computer
is fne.

Go to the support section on the Nero web site?

Have you updated to the latest version of Nero 7.0?

Nero is not a Microsoft product. Sending a report to Microsoft is useless.
You need to contact Nero and get support for *their* product.

Look in the System and Application logs for Error and Warning reports at
the time when the problem occurs and post copies here.
You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools,
Event Viewer. When researching the
meaning of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and
Description are important.
HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=winxp
A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message(email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. This will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report
complete with links into the message. Make sure this is the first paste
after exiting from Event Viewer.
Hope this helps.

Have you got any other cd burning programs installed. Another program might
be causing a conflict with nero. I had nero 7 but went back to nero 6
because nero 7 was unstable. If another program is causing a conflict that
would give you the problems mentioned. Goto start, run type msconfig and on
the start up tab disable all programs then reboot. This will give you a
resonably clean computer then see if nero runs without problems. If it runs
ok try enabling each program in msconfig one at a time till you find the
conflict. I know in the past easy cd creator caused conflicts with nero. I
dont know if it still does or if it now works wwith nero but if you have it
installled you might want to remove it till you get nero stable.
