- Network problems

I am working on a Dell Latitude D600 Laptop with Windows XP Professional,
Service Pack 2, and I am on a college network. My issue is with the
connectivity of the network. Within the activity window of the LAN
properties, it says that I am sending over 500 packets of data, and only
receiving 200 packets of data. I can connect to websites, but at a very slow
speed. I am on an ethernet connection, and I have checked all of my network
settings using ipconfig, and have already attempted to release and renew the
connection. Would anyone know how to resolve this problem?

How about asking the network administrators at your college?
