I have a long standing unresolved issue with open file dialogs on XP Pro SP2.
Open file dialogs take a long time to open (30-45 seconds) and when they do
open the icons on the left are frequently missing or they appear without any
text. This may well be down to some third party software but I am at a loss
as to what it might be. The PC has an AMD64 3000+ running on an ASUS
K8NE-Deluxe M/B. It is firewalled and properly virus protected and there is
no other indication that anything is wrong. Repairing the installation has no
effect. I have searched for this problem on the web but to no avail. Any
suggestions?
