In Windows XP Professional Edition:
Opening any local file takes more then 40 sec to open. But as soon as i
disconnect from the network ,the local files open in 1 sec.
This happens occasionaly.
Have even changed my PC,except the hard disk;but still this happens.
This problem is with the PC in my office.
The unique thing about this is that this problem mostly happens on
Saturday/Sunday.Sometimes it starts on Monday and automatically stops
happening by wed/thur.The Helpdesk guys are not able to solve this problem.
This is happening since last 6 months.
Am very fed up.Pls help.

Your computer is looking for a mapped drive that isn't available. Right click
on My Computer and choos disconnect drive. disconnect any mapped drive that
isn't available
