Posted by New Dude on March 27th, 2006

last night as i was restarting my labtop i got a message informing me that i
have no paging file or paging file is too small, i click ok and my system
comes up, i try to use system restore to fix the issue, i get another message
saying system restore is not able to protect your computer. Any suggestions
on how i fix this issue, i'm running Win. XP PRO, on a dell latitude d505,
intel(R)Pentium(R)M, Processor 1500MHz, 1.50GHz, 512 MB of RAM. Thanks for
your Support.

R.click my computer,properties,advanced,virtual memory,change button,select:
"let system manage" click set 2X,close out.A restart will be prompted if done
correctly. Also, increase the ram memory, will increase paging file + system
memory.

Hi,

Let Windows manage the virtual memory.
Right clicking on My Computer - Properties - Advanced Tab -
Performance - Settings - Advanced Tab - Change, and select System
Managed Size. Click Ok until all dialog boxes are closed and reboot the
system.

As for System Restore, take a look at these troubleshooting steps to
take when System Restore fails to restore:
