Power Schemes and Multiple Users
Posted by Mike McCollister on January 7th, 2006

I have found that if I have multiple users on my notebook computer that the power schemes get a little confused. For example, if I am logged on to the Fred account and it has power scheme A and then I switch user to Wilma and it has a different power scheme then the one of the power schemes gets messed up. Is there a way to lock the power schemes so that when it is changed on one account that it gets changed on the other accounts?

Thanks,

Mike

Power schemes are a global setting and cannot be
changed without affecting other users.

Carey,

I don't see that to be the case. I would love that to be the case but I
don't see it.

If I set the Wilma account to "Home/Office Desk" logout and then log into
the Fred account and change the power scheme to Presentation, log out and
then go back to Wilma, it is still set to "Home/Office Desk". I would love
for that to stick between accounts.

Note that I am using XP Pro and all accounts are admin accounts.

Mike - did you ever get a solution to this? I get exactly the same annoying
problem and want a way to make the power settings global.
