It seems that I have started having this issue also after I had updated
some of the files from MS my problems with this is when I have been
playing windows mediaplayer for a bit and twards the end of the avi
file I get this 0cx0000017 the mediaplayer freezes and I cant get out
unless I play with the icons on the bottom of page then I get a pop up
with that same code and then I can close the mediaplayer as long as I
have not hit ok on the pop up otherwize I have to go through the same
thing over again but this time dont touch the popup then can close the
media player.

wow...what? codes like 0xc0000017 are usually a registry problem but in your
case its a low memory issue.see article
Error message when you start Windows: "Your system is low on virtual memory"-
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;EN-US;Q315351
have you ever seen the ballon "system is low on virtual memory, please
increase th size..." pop up on your taskbar?try these:
RAM, Virtual Memory, Pagefile and all that stuff
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;555223
and
How to Clear the Windows Paging File at Shutdown
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314834/EN-US/
if these dont help then you need to post more information about your system
what version of windows
how much RAM \ pagefile memory you have
processor speed (ie 233 Khz - 4 Ghz)
how exactly does this error happen (what were you doing, ant and all
applications that were open)
